Feel free to adapt it to meet your needs and personalities.

Couples often go into great detail when making their wedding vows before the actual ceremony. This can take many forms, and depends on the individual couple. Couples often find that their own words can be more meaningful than traditional vows. Some couples feel that the traditional vows are chauvinistic, and because of this, reciting these vows may be inappropriate if you have strong views on equality.

Remember that your wedding vows are a public declaration of your commitment to one another so speak slowly and clearly. Your wedding guests are there to witness your marriage ceremony and they should be able to hear your words. Also remember, you’re not just saying pretty words, you’re stating your wedding vows — words from the heart that aim to express if only a fraction of how important this bond of love is to you.

Wedding vows are meant to convey your feelings of love. They explain why you’re choosing to spend the rest of your life with your partner. Wedding vows mark the blissful unity of woman and man with words of promise. They are the words of commitment that are an essence of the wedding ceremony. Wedding vows are a very special part of every couple’s ceremony. While the vows stating “with this ring I thee wed” are popular, many couples find that they don’t really represent their feelings to the full extent and would prefer more personalized wedding vows.

Funny wedding vows can be a great addition to your ceremony, but if they are in bad taste they can ruin the day. There is no reason that you should ever say anything in your wedding vows that may upset your guests, or be inappropriate for young children; keep this in mind when you start the writing process. Funny wedding vows run the gamut from personal little phrases cleverly inserted into their vows such as I promise to always make chocolate cake for you? Funny wedding vows are less common, but are gaining in popularity.
